HFE Solutions' consultants have acted as expert witnesses on a variety of legal cases, ranging from injuries caused by manual handling or repetitive tasks, to cases involving lack of appropriate training and equipment. We are registered with the Law Society of Scotland as expert witnesses

The combination of our knowledge of biomechanics and Health and Safety legislation allows us to provide a quantitative and qualitative assessment of the claimant’s physical tasks, the risk of injury and the employer’s responsibilities and procedures.

For each case we assess all the factors that could have contributed to the disputed injury: these include aspects such as performance of the task, the organisation of work, the environment in which the task was carried out, issues arising from training or equipment, etc. The findings are documented in an unbiased, independent written opinion on the risks to health and safety arising from poor ergonomics. Our consultants will also attend Court as an expert witness when required.
